Destiny Character Meet, Greet, and Play
Villains Encounters and more
Both heroes and villains from across the Disney universe will take center stage aboard the Disney Destiny, including a fearsome assembly of schemers and scoundrels at sea. Guests will encounter formidable foes — including Maleficent, Hades, Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, Mr. Smee and Oogie Boogie — along with some of Disney’s most mischievous and misunderstood personalities, like Loki, Captain Jack Sparrow and Bruno, through a variety of shows, meet-and-greets and special appearances throughout the ship.
The Disney Destiny will also introduce exclusive ways for guests to interact with their favorite villains, rogues, and mischief makers during all-new events and activities. This will complement a host of popular programs from across the Disney Cruise Line fleet, including a frighteningly fun dance party in Oogie Boogie’s shipboard lair and an interactive Disney trivia event that often gets interrupted by a cast of Disney villains.
Dr. Facilier, the cunningly charming illusionist may be lurking around the upper levels of the Grand Hall or in his own makeshift parlor, inviting guests in for a card trick or sleight of hand. This cunningly charming illusionist may be lurking around the upper levels of the Grand Hall or in his own makeshift parlor, inviting guests in for a card trick or sleight of hand – he’s just here to make new friends.
Guests may see Dr. Facilier show off card tricks, sleight of hand, or other illusions, creating an atmosphere that feels playful yet mischievous, true to the character’s personality. Disney describes the experience as more of a “meet and play” than a straightforward character appearance, emphasizing that Facilier is there to engage, entertain, and make new “friends” during the voyage.
What makes them secret is they won’t be listed as interactive experiences on the Navigator. They might have a name that has nothing to do with the “play” element (we’re pretty sure Cruella will be hosting an event called “Wretched Runway” that we previewed at a media event), and others might be happy accidents you encounter as you make your way around the ship.
We know that Cruella, Loki, Maleficent and Dr. Facilier will be some of the characters to play with guests at these activities, but heroes are supposed to participate. T’Challa, who asked if I’d be able to help him later with some unsavory people on board, so I’m hoping that means we’ll have a Black Panther meet and play opportunity. Captain Jack Sparrow and Bruno will also be on board, but it remains to be seen if they will appear in stage shows, traditional photo op meet-and-greets, or playful experiences.
Loki
The Legend of Loki
Zayah and Gamble tell the story of Odin and Asgard with Loki making an appearance to set the record straight and interacting with guests at the end
Zayah and Gamble are telling the story of Loki and he comes to make some corrections to their story
During one of his meet and play moments, Loki will sweep into the Grand Hall to proclaim his “glorious purpose,” putting his signature twist on familiar tales and possibly challenging guests with impromptu games or quizzes about cruise life.
“You will find Loki around the ship... he may or may not make a proclamation every time he sees a balcony. And for those of you who have sailed with us before, there are just a few balconies aboard our ships," Entertainment Creative Director Denise Case told the audience at Destination D23.
Loki, the fan-favorite character from Marvel Studios’ films and the “Loki” television series, will try to declare himself ruler of the ship and its occupants, creating chaos throughout the voyage with grand proclamations, questionable storytelling, surprise competitions and more.
Loki, the God of Mischief himself, takes over the Grand Hall for an unexpected encounter
The God of Mischief occasionally recruits unsuspecting guests for a surprise competition to prove their adoration for his royal highness, or command them to explain the strange foreign rituals of ocean cruising.
The Grand Hall is transformed into an eerie green color thanks to its 360-degree lighting effects.
During the show, Loki appears above the Grand Hall, appropriately near the Black Panther statue, before making his way to the stage.
Loki is not scary and more attitude and wants to be ruler
Open to all ages and 2 meet and greets
Celebration of A King
Loki will need some assistance in “Celebration of a King,” when he’ll choose an enchanted audience member to create his royal portrait. Some advice for the artist: be sure to catch his good side.
Celebration of the King kicks off as a heartfelt tribute to King T’Challa, the Black Panther himself—drums pounding, warriors chanting, the whole Wakanda vibe in full swing. But then, *poof*—green smoke, sly grin, and there’s Loki, God of Mischief, strutting in like he owns the place.
“Hold up,” he declares, cape swirling dramatically. “This party? It’s for *me*, King Loki. Bow down, mortals!”
The crowd’s stunned. Loki leaps onto the throne, demanding instant adoration: “Sing! Dance! Make it epic—or face my scepter!”
Cue chaos: someone starts an off-key “Hail King Loki” remix, another tries a moonwalk in Vibranium boots. It’s a glorious mess.
Then—*real* king energy enters. T’Challa steps in, calm but unbreakable. He locks eyes with Loki: “True strength isn’t taken. It’s earned. And compassion? That’s the real power.”
Loki smirks, but T’Challa’s already moving—greeting every warrior, elder, and wide-eyed kid by name, handshakes and hugs all around. The crowd roars *for the right king*.
Loki vanishes in a huff. Party resumes. Wakanda forever.
Loki will bring people on stage to have them draw him and the crowd will be split into half of them will write a new song for him and the other half will write a poem

Other moments exclusive to the Disney Destiny include Cruella de Vil, who will host a fashion-forward runway complete with sharp-witted commentary and a mischievous sing-along. Her appearances will take place in De Vil’s, a more intimate setting. These may often be unannounced surprises for guests, unlike larger character offerings likely listed on the schedule.

Treble Making with Cruella
Guests can take part in a bit of treble-making as they create a lyrical tribute to her marvelousness.
Cruella might also recruit guests to create a more flattering musical tribute to her when she hears the song “Cruella de Vil” playing onboard.
Adult only and lasts about 30 minutes
Cruella, the fearsome fur lady takes over the piano lounge to rewrite the lyrics of her classic song and design a more flattering ode to her marvelousness
Zaya and Gamble lead the guests to re-write Cruella song with new lyrics and dance moves
Gamble and Zayah will also appear in De Vil’s alongside Cruella herself and a live pianist as they encourage guests to rewrite some of the less flattering lyrics of her namesake song into more complimentary ones.
The first is a show, called “Treble Making with Cruella,” and requires guests and a piano player to write a new song about Cruella, hopefully pleasing the villain.

Treble-Making Moments – spontaneous appearances where Cruella “corrects” the ship’s rendition of her theme song, often enlisting guests to help craft a more suitably glamorous version

Captain Jack Sparrow
Jack Sparrow will also have meet and play moments during Disney Destiny sailings. I’m also hearing Jack will feature multiple storylines that unfold over the course of a sailing.
Disney hasn’t officially confirmed Jack’s appearances or revealed any details yet, but treasure hunting with him would be at the top of my to-do list.
