What Will Disney Reveal About the Believe?
This is where things get really interesting.
Disney has already confirmed several details about the ship, but there is still a LOT we don't know.
The October 7 livestream is expected to reveal the Disney Believe's homeport and initial itineraries, along with details about new venues and entertainment.
That means we could finally start getting a much clearer picture of what a sailing aboard the Believe will actually look like.
I'm especially curious about the ship's restaurants, lounges, family spaces and entertainment lineup.
And, of course, we can't forget the AquaMouse!
The Disney Believe will be the fourth Wish-class ship, so we already have a pretty good idea of the overall foundation Disney is working from. But Disney has a history of putting its own personality on each ship, and the Believe appears to have a particularly interesting story to tell.
What We Already Know About the Disney Believe
While we're waiting for October 7, Disney has already given us some pretty exciting clues.
At D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, Disney revealed several of the visual elements that will help define the new ship.
Guests entering the Grand Hall will encounter a Moana-inspired centerpiece, while Tinker Bell will adorn the bow of the ship.
And if you look toward the stern, you'll find Woody and Buzz Lightyear.
Those details give us a pretty good hint about the Disney Believe's overall personality.
But the character connections don't stop there.
Disney has previously teased ship experiences inspired by Encanto, Frozen, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Moana, and The Little Mermaid.
The promotional material surrounding the upcoming reveal has also featured characters and worlds from properties including Inside Out, Big Hero 6, Zootopia, Monsters, Inc., and Tangled.
Exactly how all of these stories will make their way onto the ship is one of the big questions we're hoping Disney answers on October 7.
A New Chapter for the Wish Class
The Disney Believe will become the fourth Wish-class ship, joining the:
Disney Wish
Disney Treasure
Disney Destiny
Disney Believe
That makes the Believe particularly interesting because Disney has used the Wish class as a platform to introduce some pretty significant changes to the Disney Cruise Line experience.
The Wish introduced the class.
The Treasure brought its own collection of new and reimagined spaces.
The Destiny continued the evolution.
Now it's the Believe's turn.
And with another Wish-class ship scheduled for 2029, the Believe won't be the final chapter for this class of ships.
The Ship Is Already Taking Shape
While we're waiting for Disney to reveal what's happening onboard, construction of the Disney Believe is already underway at Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany.
The ship's construction has been progressing through the shipyard, giving Disney Cruise Line fans a chance to watch the newest addition to the fleet literally take shape.
There's something pretty cool about knowing that while we're speculating about restaurants, entertainment and itineraries, the actual ship is being assembled thousands of miles away.
Soon, those artist renderings will become real places that Disney Cruise Line guests can walk through.
And There's Something Special Happening on the Wish
October 7 isn't only about the new ship.
Guests sailing aboard the Disney Wish that evening will also have the opportunity to experience a special one-night-only performance inspired by the Disney Believe, featuring Susan Egan.
That makes the date an especially fun one for Disney Cruise Line fans who happen to be onboard the Wish.
What I'm Most Curious to Learn
There are plenty of questions still surrounding the Disney Believe.
Where will the ship call home?
Where will she sail?
What will the restaurants look like?
Which Disney stories will receive their own dedicated spaces?
What new entertainment will Disney introduce?
Will there be any surprises that haven't been teased yet?
And perhaps the biggest question of all...
What will make the Disney Believe feel different from the other three Wish-class ships?
We've already been given some great clues, but I think the October 7 reveal is when the Believe will really start to come to life.
