Its well-preserved cottages, homes, shops, and pub, reflect life in an era long since passed. During your approx. 45-minute visit, some free time will be made to explore the area on your own.

  • Next, you will continue on to the Coal Valley for a visit to Puddle Duck Winery (or similar winery), one of Tasmania’s finest wineries. En route, you will pass by many of Hobart’s picturesque and elegant homes, and quaint cottages. Upon arrival at Meadowbank Estate your welcoming hosts will provide you with an informative commentary and wine tasting.

  • Founded in 1824, the village itself boasts fine Georgian buildings made of native sandstone. Much of Richmond was built with conscripted convict labor. Today, Richmond is a popular destination home to many galleries, craft shops, cafés and restaurants. Continue your journey to Port Arthur Historic Site. This site is a former convict settlement and a UNESCO site of global significance, located 97 kilometers from Hobart. The Port Arthur penal settlement began life as a small timber station in 1830 and quickly grew in importance within the colonies.
