In the It’s a Small World Nursery, infants and toddlers up to age 3 enter a whimsical world inspired by the classic Disney theme park attraction and original artwork by Disney Legend Mary Blair. The theme’s signature fanciful style in a patchwork of pastel colors creates an inviting and comforting space for little ones.
Upon entering the nursery, parents and children can meet and interact with counselors in a welcoming environment. Parents wishing to check on their children, without disturbing them, can glimpse into the nursery’s main play area through a one-way window.
In the nursery’s main play area, children are welcomed by cheerful, three-dimensional façades resembling the nursery’s namesake Disney attraction. Interactive, hands-on features, such as horns that honk, wheels that spin and buttons to press, are sure to delight curious kids. A boat in the center of the room “floats” on a river pattern along the soft-surface floor and is surrounded by colorful, kid-sized tables and chairs for toddlers to enjoy crafts, books and games.
At the back of the nursery, a separate room with a serene motif and a calm, quiet atmosphere is reserved for naptime.
Another idea is to book 9 - 11 pm to enjoy the hot tube or adult entertainment
DCLcruisingDAD Pro Tip: First time drop off at nursery takes longer because need to fill out lots of information/forms therefore go about 10 – 15 minutes before appointment time starts

It’s A Small World Nursery Disney Adventure
Aboard the Disney Adventure, the enchanting “it’s a small world” Nursery provides a whimsical, secure haven where tiny cruisers ages 6 months to 3 years can play, nap, and explore—while giving parents some cherished adult time onboard. The theming draws inspiration from the beloved Disney Parks attraction, featuring vibrant, Mary Blair–style artwork that's consistent across Disney Cruise Line ships but beautifully adapted here with interactive and character-rich details.
Located on Deck 8 near Disney’s Oceaneer Club (which serves ages 3–10), the nursery is a dedicated, reservation-required space with an additional fee. Operating hours vary by day and sailing—check the screens outside the entrance or the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for the latest schedule. Each cruise kicks off with a complimentary open house on Embarkation Day, offering a perfect first look inside (as many families experience during their initial visit).
At the entrance, friendly Cast Members staff a welcoming desk trimmed like a boat's canopy. Walls burst with classic “it’s a small world” artwork—think cheerful scenes from the ride—alongside an illuminated sign flanked by Tinker Bell and Peter Pan. A convenient viewing window lets parents peek in to watch their little one at play without stepping inside.
Inside the main playroom, stunning Mary Blair–inspired murals wrap the walls, blending the attraction's iconic style with beloved Disney, Pixar, and Marvel characters from around the world. Interactive elements bring the art to life: moving parts, glowing accents, and playful details engage curious toddlers.
Highlights include:
A central showcase of Big Ben and Tower Bridge, with Tinker Bell perched on a medallion and animated flying characters circling the clock tower. The famous “it’s a small world” clock face appears throughout.
A plaid castle tower home to Merida and her bear brothers, topped by a whimsical “it’s a small world” goat.
The Eiffel Tower featuring the Aristocats kittens and Remy from Ratatouille.
A tropical corner spotlighting Casita from Encanto (with the Madrigal family in the windows) and the marigold bridge from Coco, where Miguel and Héctor strum guitars.
Rapunzel in her Tangled tower, with flowing hair that moves and a glowing Pascal on the roof.
Anna, Elsa, and Olaf in a Frozen-inspired section.
The Sultan’s palace with Aladdin and Jasmine soaring on the Magic Carpet.
Mulan atop a Chinese palace roof alongside her trusty horse, Khan.
Pride Rock from The Lion King and Shuri in Wakanda from Black Panther.
Furniture echoes the pastel, playful “it’s a small world” aesthetic—low tables perfect for little ones, with books, toys, and activities always at the ready. Unscheduled fun adapts to each child's interests: movie screenings, storytime, arts and crafts, and free play with soft toys abound.
A built-in TV screen sits within a charming Pinocchio puppet theater structure, with Luca and Alberto peeking out below. During open house, cozy play mats often appear in front for relaxed viewing of mural-inspired content.
Soft lighting creates a gentle atmosphere throughout, with plenty of age-appropriate toys scattered for discovery.
Tucked behind short dividing walls, the nap room offers a calm retreat with dim dark-blue lighting, multiple cribs, and a central armchair for Cast Members. Murals here highlight American scenes: Pocahontas, Toy Story friends, Lightning McQueen, Princess Tiana, and Marvel superheroes—contrasting the global themes in the main play area. A delightful light-up mobile overhead features the Pixar ball and floating icons like the house from Up and WALL-E.
Nearby, built-in sinks and changing tables line walls adorned with oceanic scenes from Lilo & Stitch, Finding Nemo, The Little Mermaid, and Moana—right outside the restrooms for easy access.
Reservations and Key Details Reservations operate on a first-come, first-served basis: Book during the Embarkation Day open house or anytime throughout your sailing via the nursery desk. Space is very limited, so Disney strongly recommends reserving early. The minimum booking is one hour.
Cancellations must be made at least four hours in advance to avoid fees—if not canceled timely or if you no-show, a 50% charge applies.
Disney provides essentials like milk, water, snacks, bottles, and utensils (all labeled with your child's name for personal items/food brought from home). The nursery ensures a nurturing, magical experience for the youngest adventurers, letting families make the most of every moment at sea aboard the Disney Adventure! 🌍✨🍼
