Jost Van Dyke Beach Day (TT65)
Sail through Sir Francis Drake Channel to Jost Van Dyke's Great Harbor.
On this adventure you will...
Board a tour boat and set a course along the Sir Francis Drake Channel, where you can take in the unspoiled beauty of the British Virgin Islands. Jost Van Dyke is the smallest of the 4 main islands in the BVI archipelago. The island's name comes from that of a 17th-century Dutch privateer, Jost van Dyke, who used its harbors as a hideout.
Arrive at the island's Great Harbor, where you'll transfer to local taxi for a short journey to spectacular White Bay Beach.
Prepare to get your feet wet, as there is no dock on this white-sand beach, featuring crystal-clear water and waving palm trees. White Bay Beach is also known as the home of the famous "Painkiller" drink — a blend of rum and tropical fruit juices. Upon arrival, the day is yours to enjoy—swim, stroll along the shoreline or take advantage of complimentary use of the beach chairs.
Round out this perfect day in paradise with refreshing beverages and a freshly prepared BBQ lunch.
When it's time to return to the ship, take the taxi back to Great Harbor and reboard the tour boat for a relaxing cruise to the pier.

6 hours and 45 minutes with lunch and a drink provided (alcoholic or non-alcoholic)
9:45 am Walt Disney Theater
At the beach until 2:45 pm
Grab towels from the ship to use and return from excursion (bring a bag to carry the towels)
Once off the ship then board a tour boat to drive through Sir Francis Drake Channel
45 minute boat ride with beautiful views of the island (higher likelihood of motion sickness)
Then get to a dock that has a boat on it that you walk through to get to land otherwise the description mentions getting off the boat in knee high water to reach land
During the ride you will get a ticket for lunch and ticket for a drink
Next get in an open air safari jeep 15 – 30 people per jeep
5 – 10 minute drive up the narrow road on the side of a steep mountain. Very narrow roads that are one car width but beautiful sights.
Once you get to the top of the mountain take out your camera and as you drive down take beautiful photos of the beach
Once at the resort you walk down the beach all the way until the end, about a 5 – 8 minute walk
You are walking to a specific resort area that has your beach chairs and umbrellas
Of note the descriptions mentions umbrellas are not available which was not accurate we had them
Of not the beach chairs are on a steep dune therefore some people with mobility issues might need to use the chairs further away from the beach
Drink ticket does NOT include the famous pain killer drink which by the way is amazing and I highly recommend it. It does include water, soda, rum punch or juice
See menu photos for drink prices and offerings
Food included a salad with Ranch or Italian dressing, pasta salad, rice and beans, bbq/jerk chick legs and thighs, pork ribs, and tilapia. Lastly there was fresh fruit and cookies and if there is leftovers you can get seconds.
Food was excellent especially the ribs.
The area offered many tables to eat at and almost all of them were covered therefore you got some time out the sun
Resort has bathrooms and outdoor showers
Takes cash and credit cards
We had about 40 people on the excursion and there was plenty of chairs
Beach did have some rocks but overall the water was warm, clear and full of fish for snorkeling. I do not feel you needed water shoes to enjoy the beach.
No real retail shops if you need anything to pick up
Received a cold small water bottle on the boat ride back to the ship
Overall I thought this was an excellent excursion and would highly recommend it
