Explore the historic town of Wailuku and learn about Hawaiian architecture, art, artifacts and agriculture.
On this adventure you will…
Board an air-conditioned van, which will bring you into the historic town of Wailuku. Wailuku is home to many story-tellers, visionaries, and artists. On the way, your guide will provide a fun history lesson, as well as drive by some of the most significant building murals. All of which are an outstanding and evolving representation of the Hawaiian culture and Wailuku itself.
After the driving tour through Wailuku, the first stop will be at Hale Hōʻikeʻike at the Bailey House. This museum has Maui’s largest collection of Hawaiian artifacts, paintings, and furnishings of the 19th century. You will be guided through the museum and its surrounding gardens. After strolling through the gift shop, you will depart for a private working family farm in the heart of Iao Valley.
Mahina Farms is a working Hawaiian family farm and cultural space located right next to the raging Wailuku River. You will first be greeted by a Hawaiian guide who will give a brief walking tour of the grounds. You will finish the walking tour at your cultural activity. Depending on the day, you could be learning 'Ōlelo Hawai‘i (Hawaiian Language), traditional hula, gathering flowers to make lei, pounding taro root for Poi-making, the activities are endless and all just as impactful.
After your deep dive into the Hawaiian culture, a 6-passenger ATV will escort you down to the Wailuku River where you can take in the majestic beauty of the waterfall and valley above.
Local snacks will be available at the Mahina Farms Fruit Stand, and then your guides will escort you back to the van for departure to Iao State Park.
Upon arrival to Iao State Park, you will be given a brief tour and history lesson on the park, valley and the Iao Needle.
After your camera has filled up with photos of the iconic valley, depart back to the ship and wish you A Hui Hou!

Travel 30 -minutes from Kahului to the Ma’alaea Harbor. Board a 65-foot, double-decker power catamaran and set off on your snorkel adventure.
Spend 5 hours on the beautiful Maui waters with no set itinerary, as snorkeling sites change regularly depending on ocean conditions. This will provide you with the best snorkel experience for the day.
Gain a better understanding of our precious natural resources from the certified marine naturalists on board. Guides are also happy to assist with snorkel instruction and provide a fish ID class and a Junior Naturalist program for children.
The snorkel sites range from reefs along the Pali Highway (Olowalu, Coral Gardens) to green sea turtles and an abundance of marine life at Turtle Arches and Wailea Point. On rare days, calm late morning conditions allow us to visit the world-famous Molokini crater.
Once on board, enjoy refreshments as you are whisked to your first snorkel site. Have 60 minutes to snorkel, then continue to the second snorkel site. While you experience the beautiful Maui water, your hosts will prepare a delicious barbeque buffet lunch on board. Board your motorcoach and travel 45 minutes to the coastal town of Lahaina.
Arrive at the Old Lāhainā Lūʻau and be greeted with a fresh flower lei and a tropical beverage (available with or without alcohol).
Be escorted by your Lūʻau hosts to reserved tables and acquaint you with our lūʻau grounds.
Spend approximately one hour to enjoy the traditional luau grounds and cultural stations. Take a hula lesson, see coconut husking or learn the traditional art of making kapa cloth. Other stations include ulumaika (learn about Hawaiian bowling), imu (learn about the traditional way to cook a kalua pig underground). Watch the imu ceremony of unearthing the kaulua pig that will be served at dinner. Learn about the kalo/poi,taro root and observe a pounding demonstration.
Visit with vendors selling Polynesian jewelry and accessories, and wood carvers with tiki carving and crafting demonstrations. There will also be portrait stations available to capture the evening’s memories.

You can catch a glimpse of Haleakala, Maui’s massive dormant volcano, from almost any point on the island, but you will go all the way to the top on this scenic journey.
At the summit is a vast crater 7.5 miles long by 2.5 miles wide, and 3,000 feet deep. It last erupted in 1790 and has been dormant ever since, though that does not mean it won’t erupt again one day. The Hawaiians revere it as a sacred site and tell tales of Pele, the goddess of fire and volcanos.
From the visitor center and the crater’s rim, you'll be able to appreciate firsthand the unique beauty of this imposing caldera with its interesting mix of volcanic rock and plant life, some of which, like the silversword plant, is found only in Hawaii's volcanic craters. The views from the top are magnificent. If the day is clear, you may even make out 2 other towering peaks: Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea on the Big Island.
Travel down the crater to the ranger station, and then back to Kahului.
