On this adventure you will...
You will meet your guide and then enjoy a narrated tour around some of the area's most iconic and photographed streets and buildings.
Then, meet your host on the steps of award winning National Distillery Company where they will welcome you into what used to be the National Tobacco building famous for its art deco architecture.
Enjoy a guided tour of the building including the distillery floor where you will be taught how a gin is made start to finish and what botanicals are used to give the best aromatic flavors.
The tour will end with a gin tasting session with your choice of mixer in the ballroom and an opportunity to purchase NDC gin.
You will then be taken back to your ship.

Next, we’ll head to the buzzing Arataki Honey Visitor Centre, just a short 20-minute drive away. Here, the whole family can dive into the sweet world of honey-making!

The adventure continues at Napier’s National Aquarium of New Zealand for a behind-the-scenes experience! Join one of the passionate aquarium keepers for a special fish-feeding session, where you’ll meet some of the lesser-known (but very cool!) underwater creatures—and even help feed them!

On this adventure you will...
You will be introduced to your guide before boarding your motor coach for your 1 hour scenic drive along Napier’s scenic Marine Parade and Hawke’s Bay, passing dramatic stands of tall Norfolk pines.
From Cape Kidnappers Station, follow an unpaved road across rolling pastures, riverbeds and gullies.
You will stop just a few yards from the gannet colony at Cape Kidnappers, giving you a close-up look at the birds. Gannets are easily recognized by their distinctive black eye markings and pale gold crown. They arrive here in late July, and their chicks hatch about four months later.
During your visit, watch as gannets swoop and dive for food, preen themselves or perform their ritual mating dance. After time to marvel at this symphony of song and flight, enjoy a refreshing tea.
En route back to your ship, take a brief orientation drive through the Art Deco District of Napier.

Classic Ride Through Napier
The original town of Napier was devastated by an earthquake in 1931 but was completely rebuilt to a contemporary style of the times; Art Deco.
On this adventure you will...
You’ll be met by your driver, in Art Deco costume, who will provide a fascinating commentary as you are driven in style, through Napier and surrounding areas in a beautiful late 1930's car.
You’ll learn about the earthquake that destroyed the city, hear stories of the people that led the rebuild, and discover the Art Deco style.
Your tour travels to Ahuriri where you will view one of the most photographed buildings in New Zealand, the National Tobacco Company building. You’ll then step back in time as you drive through the city center to view the Art Deco buildings, arriving at the Art Deco Trust where you can be dropped off to enjoy a viewing of a movie showing what happened to Napier and Hawke's Bay in 1931.
You can then take time to enjoy the city before returning on the shuttles provided. (5 minute journey).
Note: If you do not wish to disembark at the Art Deco Trust you will be taken back to the port.

Enjoy your sweet adventure when you depart the pier via motorcoach and set off into the heart of the region.
Enjoy a scenic drive towards the charming town of Havelock North. Here you'll stop at the Arataki Honey Centre for a taste of Rush Munro's, Hawke's Bay's famous 100% natural ice cream.
You will also have the opportunity to taste some of the many delicious varieties of Arataki Honey.
Your return drive back to the ship includes a visit to The Silky Oak Chocolate Company, which manufactures some of the finest handmade chocolates using coverture ‘real’ chocolate. Take a walk through the Chocolate Museum, which tells the history of chocolate and has some wonderful chocolate memorabilia including a 2,000-year-old Mayan chocolate pot. Take home a small sample of chocolates as a souvenir. Don't leave without purchasing some of its confectionary creations.

Enjoy a flat 16 kilometers/9.5 miles guided cycling tour along nature reserves and vineyards.
On this adventure you will...
After meeting your guide, you will be transported the short distance from the port to your cycle tour start point where your driver will give commentary on the fascinating Art Deco history of Napier city.
On arrival you will be set up on your comfortable touring E-Bike (after a safety briefing and explanation on how to use the controller, gears, brakes). You will cycle for a distance of 9 miles, start to end, with plenty of stops for commentary and photos, along fun seaside trails, estuary wetlands and rural farms.
Start by riding along the scenic coastal trails, through the estuary past the local fishing port to arrive at the Department of Conservation nature reserve and wetland farm. You will ride the trails within the reserve through the Ahuriri Wetlands and observe the many native birds and farm animals (sheep) that inhabit the area.
Hawke’s Bay is one of New Zealand’s most acclaimed wine regions and the Hawke’s Bay trails are among New Zealand's best, year-round cycling destinations. The lime sand trails are wide, smooth and mostly flat, perfect for enjoying the mini Mediterranean climate with some of the finest food and wine to be found anywhere in the world - the perfect Hawke’s Bay experience.
On reaching the suburb of Taradale you will cycle along the urban trails towards your well-deserved food and wine stop – the trails take you right to the cellar door of one of the top Hawke’s Bay wineries for your wine tasting and seasonal platter. After your tasters, it will be time to leave this fantastic area and return to Napier and your ship.

Board a stylish road train right next to the ship and be transported back in time to Napier's romantic and opulent art deco era.
You will head out along scenic Marine Parade and travel into the elegant heart of Napier, trundling past some of the world's most stunning examples of art deco architecture including the impressive facade of the National Tobacco Building.
You will even be taken right into the elegant heart of Napier, the main street which is otherwise largely a pedestrian zone.
From the center the train heads over Bluff Hill, an area featuring early settlers’ homes, and down to the old port village in the Ahuriri district. The engaging commentary outlines the history of the 1931 earthquake and the city's rebuilding, and you will hear about many aspects of life in the region such as its workforce, industries, lifestyle and culture.
Your short tour stop is at historic Customs House with pictorial stories of the region over time.
From here, the tour will continue through the vibrant bar and restaurant area and sailing port of Ahuriri, back towards Napier's Marine Parade where you may disembark to explore Napier on foot or remain onboard the train and return to your ship.

After meeting your guide by the ship, you will start your 1 hour transfer to the rafting base. Upon arrival, you’ll participate in a safety briefing and receive your equipment.
Designed for families of all ages and abilities, a rafting float trip down the Mohaka River is a way to experience some of New Zealand’s most beautiful wilderness.
This rafting float trip is on a Grade 2 river, which is typically flat, with moving water featuring small rapids and waves and a possibility of small drops in pitch.
You may ride the occasional rolling rapids, take a dip in one of the whirlpools, or just relax as you float on the raft, taking in nature at its best. Then, travel through the Titiokura Saddle mountain pass to the other side of the range. Here, you’ll begin your float trip through low canyons and native vegetation.
Back at the base, you’ll have time to change into dry clothes before enjoying a light lunch on the drive back to port.

On this adventure you will…
Hawke’s Bay is one of New Zealand’s top destinations for outdoor adventures, and it’s perfect for families looking to explore its beautiful landscapes together. On this fun and educational tour, your family will head to the Ahuriri Estuary, a special wildlife reserve that is home to a wide variety of native birds. This area is classified as a nationally significant wildlife refuge, making it a wonderful spot for families to connect with nature.
Your adventure begins with a scenic 15-minute drive through Napier City, where you’ll receive guided commentary about the local sights as you head towards the Ahuriri Estuary trails.
Once you arrive, a local expert will lead you on a guided walk around the estuary, sharing fascinating stories about the region’s history, culture, and wildlife. The walking track is easy and suitable for all ages and fitness levels, making it an ideal activity for families who enjoy being outdoors and love the water.
As you walk, you’ll be treated to stunning views of the estuary, farmland, and abundant native birdlife, including grey herons, royal spoonbills, and pied stilts. If you’re lucky, you might even spot kingfishers or shags diving for fish! Little explorers will be delighted to watch crabs cautiously emerge from their holes in the mud at low tide – a fun nature discovery! The walk also includes a boardwalk bridge that leads to the tidal flats, where carved pou pou (Maori posts) stand guard over the estuary, adding a touch of local culture to the experience.
After approximately 90 minutes of walking on gentle, flat terrain (covering a distance of approximately 4 kilometers), you will be transferred to Ahuriri Beach, where you will have time to relax and enjoy a Kiwi style picnic snack.
Feel free to take a refreshing dip in the water or enjoy the nearby playground with the kids.
After a relaxing time at the beach, you’ll be dropped back at Napier Port. If time permits, you may be dropped off at the Napier i-SITE, where you can take a scheduled shuttle back to the port.
