  • Amedee Island is a tiny coral island located just 24 kilometers south of Noumea.

  • Enjoy a glass bottom boat ride as the skipper steers the vessel over the multitude of coral reef systems surrounding the island.

  • Your first stop will be at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, built in 1874, is the oldest in New Caledonia. Inside, you will see exquisite stained-glass windows depicting the miracles of Lourdes.

  • Continue back via the bays, and stop at Ouen Toro Hill for panoramic views of picturesque tropical islands and reef-protected waters.

  • Then travel through Anse Vata to the aquarium filled with New Caledonia’s stunning marine life, including fascinating prehistoric nautilus and rare fluorescent corals.

  • Pass elegant waterside apartments, numerous marina facilities and the downtown area on the way to Baie des Citrons (Lemon Bay).

  • Journey through the “Réserve Naturelle Intégrale de la Montagne des Sources” by kayak on the Dumbéa River.

  • On this adventure you will…

  • Once you meet your driver, you will take a scenic, 30-minute drive to the Dumbéa River. The indigenous flora contrasts with predominantly red soil and deep green hues of the river.

  • The entire area is part of the "Réserve Naturelle Intégrale de la Montagne des Sources", a reserve set up to protect Noumea’s water supply.

  • Guides will provide a kayak, safety equipment and a brief lesson.

  • Once you’re wearing your safety gear, you can set off upstream. The only disruption to the tranquility of the river is the swish of paddles on a journey through one of New Caledonia’s prettiest valleys.

  • Take a dip in the river before kayaking back downstream.

  • After your adventure on the Dumbéa River, you will be brought back to your ship.

  • Meet your driver and board your vehicle, you will head over to The Provincial Zoological and Forest Park, located in the lush green hills overlooking Noumea.

  • After a quick safety briefing, fitted with a helmet and Segway pairing, you will be on your way.

  • Follow your guide and navigate the winding pathways, passing by ponds, lakes, native shrubs, and fascinating bird life. Your guide will stop along the way to point out highlights. See a huge variety of wild and domestic animals, like the roussette (fruit bat), notou pigeon, parakeets, and Cagou, an endemic, flightless bird, and symbol of New Caledonia. The Cagou has a unique call that is often mistaken for a barking dog.

  • Discover the Pacific region’s rich and varied indigenous culture at the Tjibaou Cultural Centre, a complex of galleries and performance spaces celebrating Kanak life. It is also one of the Oceania’s finest examples of modern architecture.

  • The centre’s collection of sail-like pavilions was patterned after the traditional huts of the native Kanaks. It was designed in the late 1990s by Italian architect Renzo Piano (winner of the 1998 Pritzker prize) and named after Jean-Marie Tjibaou, the assassinated leader of an independence movement who envisioned a place where the artistic and linguistic heritage of the Kanaks would be celebrated. This is Tjibaou's dream realized.

  • Begin your guided walking tour along the Kanak path, which tells the story of man's creation through the myths and beliefs of Kanak society. Indigenous medicinal plants line the path and underline the importance of the bond between nature and the Kanak people. There are several gardens representing topics including rebirth, the duality of men and women and the spiritual relationship between the visible and invisible worlds.

  • The exhibits inside the centre’s three separate villages reveal the Kanak culture through painting and sculpture. One of the most moving exhibits is devoted to the life and work of Tjibaou.

  • From the treetops to the bottoms, get ready to see Noumea from high above!

  • On this adventure you will…

  • Meet your driver and board your vehicle.

  • Put your balance and bravery to the test and monkey around in the treetops of Koghis Forest. Swing, slide and climb your way through an adventure course up to 20 meters above ground level.

  • After a short transfer and a safety briefing, your treetop adventure begins. Navigate your way across a series of obstacles—including a Nepalese Bridge, The Tyrolean, Tarzan’s Jump and the Monkey’s Bridge—and swing ropes ranging from 2 to 20 meters above ground level. Just don’t look down!

  • As well as an exhilarating adrenaline rush, from this perspective you can also enjoy a bird’s eye view of the magnificent primary forest of Mount Koghi. It's a unique way to enjoy an adventure while taking in the pristine natural attractions Noumea.
