Board your motorcoach for a short drive to the Rockland Estate. Here, your tour begins in a restored plantation house originally built in the 1700s. You will see depictions of what life was like on a plantation and learn about the customs, traditions, lifestyles, and stories.

The Estate features a museum and access to several attractions, including the Sky Explorer. Guests are free to walk through this 1700’s plantation house and museum reading about the customs, traditions, and stories of St Maarten on their own.

Time to take a ride on the Sky Explorer and view St. Maarten from a different perspective! The approximate 30-minute ride will show you breathtaking views of the stunning St. Maarten landscape, the peaks and valleys of this beautiful island and let you capture photographs you are unable to get from any other location. After relaxing in two chairlifts, taking you 1,125 feet above sea level, arrive at Sentry Hill, the pinnacle of sightseeing destinations. You will have a 360-degree views of St. Maarten and be able to see the neighboring islands of Saba, St. Eustatius, St. Barts, St Kitts, Nevis and Anguilla.

After enjoying the amazing vistas on the mountaintop descend on the Sky Explorer back down the mountainside. Upon arrival to the bottom of the Estate you will enjoy lunch in a former sugarcane boiling house that is today used as Emilio’s restaurant. You will be greeted by our Chef who will take you through a culinary journey with a four (4) course tasting menu. Emilio’s slogan is “Dine with History” and the gourmet tasting lunch at Emilio’s restaurant is a culinary experience with a journey back in time.
