Prohibited and Restricted Items
Here is a copy of the policy but please make sure to go to the Disney Cruise Line page as the policy is always being updated. I find it very helpful to visit the policy right before I start to pack and make sure to empty all the pockets in you luggage and bags before you start to pack.
At Disney Cruise Line, the safety and comfort of our Guests and Crew are our top priorities. As such, certain items are prohibited on board our ships. We kindly ask that you take a few minutes to review the list of prohibited items before boarding. Your cooperation and understanding are greatly appreciated. (updated 11.19.25)
Disney Cruise Line reserves the right to seize and secure any item deemed to be dangerous or pose a security or safety risk. Attempting to bring these items on board will also delay the delivery of luggage to your stateroom.

To maintain a safe and secure environment for all Guests and Crew, Disney Cruise Line has a zero-weapons policy and prohibits the following items on board the ships and ashore at our island destinations, Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.
Firearms
Firearm replicas, including non-firing, imitations, toys and their components
Exceptions: toys allowed on board
Store-bought light sabers
Plastic toy "pirate" swords
Plastic store-bought toy "Mjolnir" hammers (Thor's hammer)
Air, BB, pellet, paintball pistols, rifles and sling shots
Diving equipment, including air tanks, spears, spear guns, slings, dive knives, pry bars and underwater scooters
Satellite receivers, emergency position indicating radio beacons (EPIRB), communication scanners and wideband receivers
Explosives components and accessories, including ammunition, detonators, fireworks, pyrotechnics and flares
Highly flammable liquids and combustible substances, including liquid oxygen
Knives (regardless of blade length) and straight razors
Lasers
Restraining devices and offensive weapons, including hand and leg cuffs, pepper spray, tasers and stun guns
Scissors with blades exceeding 4 inches (scissors with blunt ends and no longer than 4 inches are allowed)
Guests found in possession of weapons or similar prohibited items on their person or in their baggage may be denied boarding and are subject to severe legal penalties.

Marijuana and Illicit Drug Policy
In accordance with United States federal regulations and local laws in the destinations where we visit, illegal narcotics/drugs, including synthetic, designer drugs and medically prescribed marijuana are prohibited on board the ships and at our island destinations, Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.
Additionally, all drug paraphernalia used for marijuana, cannabis and hemp is prohibited. Medically prescribed marijuana, as well as items derived from or enriched by marijuana, including items and products that contain THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) and or CBD (Cannabidiol) are also prohibited.
Guests found in possession of any prohibited items on their person or in their baggage may be denied boarding and are subject to severe legal penalties.
Disney Cruise Line reserves the right to seize and secure any item deemed to be dangerous or pose a security or safety risk. Attempting to bring these items on board will also delay the delivery of luggage to your stateroom.
Alcohol Policy
Disney Cruise Line is committed to creating a safe and enjoyable cruise experience for our Guests. Luggage delivery may be delayed until late in the evening if alcohol is found in checked luggage. To ensure timely luggage delivery to your stateroom, please follow our alcohol policy below.
Disney Cruise Line Guests 21 years and older may bring a maximum of 2 bottles of unopened wine or sparkling wine (no larger than 750 ml) or 6 beers (no larger than 12 ounces) on board at the beginning of the voyage and at each port of call. These beverages must be packed in carry-on (not checked) bags or luggage.
Guests who bring wine or sparkling wine on board and then wish to consume it in one of the dining rooms will be charged a corkage fee of $29 USD per bottle.
Please note:
Alcohol packed in checked luggage will be removed and no compensation will be offered. Please be aware that Guests with beverage containers in checked luggage have experienced damage to their belongings.
All alcohol brought on board must be in the original unopened container. Partially used bottles and those in which the seal is broken are prohibited.
Any wine or sparkling wine in excess of 2 bottles or beer in excess of 6 beers is prohibited and must be discarded prior to entry and will be offered no compensation.
Liquors, spirits or excess wine and beer purchased in ports of call will be stored until the end of the cruise.
Guests MUST retrieve stored alcohol at the end of the cruise. Items not retrieved will be discarded and no compensation will be offered.
Alcohol brought on board may not be consumed in any lounge or public area.
All Guests must comply with all laws and Disney Cruise Line policies related to the consumption and distribution of alcohol. Guests are prohibited from providing alcoholic beverages to any other person, regardless of age.

Disney Cruise Line reserves the right to refuse sale and/or service of alcoholic beverages to anyone.
The drinking age on board is 21, and a valid photo ID is required.
However, during round-trip cruises departing from any European country that has a lower drinking age, parents or guardians may sign a Beverage Consent Form that allows their 18- to 20-year-old children to consume alcoholic beverages while in the adult’s presence.
In addition, for round-trip cruises from Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, Brisbane and Singapore, Guests 18 years of age and older may purchase and consume alcoholic beverages without parental consent. For repositioning cruises between Hawai'i and Australia, parents or guardians may sign a Beverage Consent Form that allows their 18- to 20-year-old children to consume alcoholic beverages while in the adult’s presence.

Appliances, Electrical Items and Electronics
For the safety of all Guests on board, electrical appliances are restricted and therefore prohibited from being brought on board. Should any of these items be found in your baggage during the security screening process, they will be confiscated and result in a delay of your luggage delivery until late evening on embarkation day. To ensure swift delivery of your luggage to your stateroom, please leave these items at home. Select hairstyling and grooming tools are exceptions—see “Exceptions: electrical appliances allowed on board” below for additional details.

Items Requiring Inspection
The following electrical appliances will be collected for inspection by the Chief Electrical Engineer and, if approved, will be returned for use on board the ship. Unapproved items found during the security screening process will be confiscated, causing a delay in the delivery of your luggage to your stateroom until late evening on embarkation day.

Hairdryers must be 220V/2000 watts max or 110V/1500 watts max (all ships offer a hand-held hairdryer in each stateroom)

Food and Beverage/Ice Chest Policy
To ensure a safe and enjoyable cruise experience for all our Guests, please take note of the following guidelines regarding bringing your own food and ice chests on board. Prohibited items found in your baggage will cause a delay in luggage delivery until late in the evening. To ensure swift delivery of your luggage to your stateroom, please leave these items at home.
Prohibited items:
Electrical appliances such as rice cookers, hot plates, coffee makers, blenders, bottle sterilizers and bottle warmers
Homemade, precooked or perishable foods or open food containers.
Ice chests or coolers, except as noted below
A limited number of approved bottle warmers and bottle sterilizers are available upon request through Guest Services on board. In addition, you may also request hot water to be delivered to your stateroom at any time from room service.
You are welcome to bring:
Breast milk, in carry-on luggage only
Coolers no larger than 12″ x 12″ x 12″ (30.5cm x 30.5cm x 30.5cm), as carry-on luggage only for storing medications, baby food or nonperishable items related to dietary restrictions only
Nonperishable snack foods in original factory-sealed packaging. All items must either be consumed prior to returning to your home port or remain unopened

Household and General Items

Should any of these items be found in your baggage during the security screening process, they will be confiscated and result in a delay of your luggage delivery until late evening on embarkation day. Agricultural items such as flowers, plants, fruit, etc.
Balloons and kites
Bottle sterilizers and warmers (a limited number of approved bottle warmers and bottle sterilizers are available upon request through Guest Services on board)
Candles, incense and diffusers
Coffee makers, heating elements, blenders, hot plates, microwave ovens and rice cookers
Electric blankets
Electric irons and steamers (all ships offer self-service laundry facilities equipped with irons and ironing boards)
Extension cords, power strips, multi-plugs and surge protectors

Disney Cruise Line is committed to creating a safe and enjoyable cruise experience for our Guests; therefore, the recreational and sporting items listed below are strictly prohibited from being brought on board. Should any of these items be found in your baggage during the security screening process, they will be confiscated and result in a delay of your luggage delivery until late evening on embarkation day. To ensure swift delivery of your luggage to your stateroom, please leave these items at home.
Air, BB, pellet, paintball pistols, rifles and sling shots
Archery equipment
Baseball and cricket bats
Boogie boards
Diving equipment, including air tanks, spears, spear guns, slings, dive knives, pry bars and underwater scooters

If you have selected dive, scuba or fishing Port Adventures, all necessary equipment will be provided for you on the adventure.
Exceptions: sporting equipment allowed on board
Golf clubs and tennis racquets may be brought on board, but must be stored in Guest's stateroom and used off the ship in ports of call
Baseballs, basketballs, footballs, soccer balls and volleyballs may be brought on board, but must be stored in Guest's stateroom and used off the ship in ports of call

Wheeled Recreational Equipment and Transport Devices
For the safety of our Guests and Crew, the following items are not allowed on board. Should any of these items be found in your baggage during the security screening process, they will be confiscated and result in a delay of your luggage delivery until late evening on embarkation day. To ensure swift delivery of your luggage to your stateroom, please leave these items at home.
Bicycles
Footwear with wheels (such as Heelys roller shoes)
Hover boards
Roller or inline skates
Scooters*
Segways
Skateboards
Wagons (collapsible wagons are allowed)
*Guests with a mobility disability who require a mobility aid should contact Special Services (407-566-3602) before sailing. Guests bringing or renting a manual wheelchair or electric convenience vehicle (ECV) must complete the Special Services Form. Wheeled mobility devices with fewer than 3 wheels, or devices that cannot maintain stability and balance when stopped, unpowered or unoccupied, are strictly prohibited on board.

Wheeled Mobility Devices
Guests with a mobility disability that requires the use of a mobility aid should contact Special Services (407-566-3602) prior to sailing. Guests bringing or renting a manual wheelchair or Electric Convenience Vehicle (ECV) should complete the Special Services Form. Wheeled mobility devices with less than 3 wheels and devices that cannot maintain stability and balance when stopped, unpowered or unoccupied are strictly prohibited on board.
