Meet your guide for a panoramic motorcoach ride through the streets of Sydney, passing historic buildings and picturesque coastlines. Drive to Wentworth Park for a photo opportunity of its pretty bandstand and then ride on through Sydney's business and shopping districts.
Travel charming tree-lined streets as your guide shares stories of the coal miners and steel workers who helped shape this city since its beginnings in 1785.
Visit Whitney Pier Museum, dedicated to the many nationalities that founded the region. You'll have time on your own to explore and taste a traditional oatcake made from a centuries-old recipe.
See historic St. Patrick's Church, the Jost House and the Cossit House—one of the oldest surviving houses in Sydney, and possibly, one of the oldest buildings on Cape Breton Island.

Enjoy an informative stroll through historic downtown Sydney and a fudge-making experience at the Cape Breton Fudge Company.
On this adventure you will…
Meet your guide at the pier for your walk through historic downtown Sydney.
Learn about the history of local landmarks like St. Patrick's Church, the oldest Roman Catholic church on Cape Breton Island. The 1828 structure was erected in 1828 in the Pioneer Gothic style. Then visit the Jost House, built in 1787, that was the home of a prominent merchant.
Continue on to the Cape Breton Fudge Company, a company that has become a Sydney staple in just 10 years. Their treats have even been shared at the Golden Globes and the Country Music Awards!
Try your hand at making fudge and enjoy a treat of tea and traditional oatcakes.
Take home a half pound sample of fudge as a souvenir of your "sweet" day.
Conclude your tour by walking back to the pier through the historic downtown. Along the way, you'll see the preserved BMO Bank of Montreal, an 1899 Gothic-revival sandstone building with a copper dome.

See the museum’s exhibit that focuses on the geological development of Cape Breton's coal field.
Learn about the various types of coal mining and mining techniques that have been used to excavate coal since 1720.
Enjoy about an hour of free time to explore the museum on your own and visit the gift shop.
